Paediatric Physiotherapy at HTC

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy with younger children requires imaginative and engaging input grounded in experienced, clinical knowledge

Growth stages vary hugely, with some teenagers developed to a point where they are already young men and women in appearance.

Therapists at HTC are level 3 Child protection certificated to promote awareness and knowledge for safeguarding our youngsters.

We ask that all minors attending for Paediatric Physiotherapy at our centre are accompanied by a parent or chaperone

What is Paediatric physiotherapy?

The basic definition of paediatric (childrens) physiotherapy is the provision of evaluative, habilitation, and rehabilitation services to children, from birth to 18 years.

In reality, paediatric physiotherapy is a dynamic field of varied clinical practice that is focused on improving the health, wellbeing, and participation of children and also their families, in all aspects of life.

Children have many intricate phases of physical, cognitive, and emotional development. Therefore various age and development stages require various expertise and experience from specialist Physiotherapists (just as with other health professions).

This diversity in specialism from Physiotherapists is also then redivided depending upon the child in question’s condition i.e. the differences in treating a paediatric patient with a significant neurological condition or with a sports injury.
